What a great turnout! A big “Thank You” to everyone who came to our August fertility education seminar.
We began our evening with a summary about Fertility Solutions and our dream to offer individualized patient care. After many years of practice, our three female Reproductive Endocrinologists, made the decision to open a fertility practice with a truly “personalized patient experience”.
Some examples of this that were discussed during the seminar include:
- At Fertility Solutions, our doctors call patients with their results and discuss the upcoming treatment course.
- Our doctors perform their own patient ultrasounds (because they want to have another chance to discuss the fertility journey with each patient).
- Our center offers the nationally renowned Laboratory Medical Director Michael Lee.
Throughout the seminar, we encouraged attendees to ask questions along with our fertility specialists. Here are some of the questions that were discussed:
What is IUI (Intrauterine insemination)?
IUI is a fertility treatment that is used to increase the chance of fertilization by improving the number of sperm that are passed into the vagina, through the cervix, and into the uterus. This procedure involves placing “washed sperm” inside a woman’s uterus (when she is ovulating) with a thin flexible tube. Washed sperm is a laboratory procedure that separate the fast moving sperm form the more sluggish sperm.
How much does IUI cost?
Fertility Solutions offers an IUI natural cycle package, three cycles for the price of two. The cost is $750, paid up front for all three cycles. Also, for patients that are looking for monitored cycles with clomid, our 3 cycle package is $2500. The cost of sperm donation is not included. However, the sperm thaw, preparation of the sperm (Sperm washing) and insemination performed by our physicians (MDs) are included in the noted prices above.
Can Acupuncture help in conceiving a baby?
For over 5000 years, acupuncture has been a staple in Chinese medicine. As a fertility center, we fully believe that any treatment that may decrease stress and increase in blood flow can be a benefit to our patients. In reference to herbal medicines, it is best to speak with your fertility specialist to ensure there is no conflict or side effects with prescribed fertility medications. In your path to finding the right fertility clinic for you and your partner, please consider many factors – some of these factors include: office environment, relationship with your doctor, the amount of time your doctor spends with you, and an over all feeling of receiving quality care.
