Three Fertility Goals for the New Year

Posted In General

Dec 26 2019

A new year, a new decade, and new opportunities to take advantage of modern family building await in 2020. If you’ve been putting off a fertility consultation or had previously delayed treatment, but are interested in starting again, the new year is an ideal time to contact a fertility specialist.

For those who are ready to make that call, there are three fertility goals for the new year you can keep in mind to help keep the next weeks and months as stress-free as possible.

Get Organized
Here are some things you can get organized as you move toward fertility care:

  • Insurance coverage: Contact your insurance plan provider directly to determine which fertility treatment care services are covered and where self-pay may need to occur.
  • Medical records and other relevant documentation: If you have any relevant documentation, whether in print or digital, getting this organized is 100% recommended. Some patients will purchase a folder or binder that they use solely for fertility care so all test results, educational information, bills, insurance documents, etc., are easily located in one clear location.
  • Calendars: Planning out as far out in advance when you can and ensuring that any events are well noted means that when fertility appointments arise, you can schedule things without fear of over-/double-booking. Try to get all birthdays, anniversaries, work events, etc., on your calendar for the next year and have your partner do the same.

Consider a Support Group
A fertility support group is recommended for those undergoing care or using third-party reproduction. Support groups can be in person, online, men-only, women-only, single parents, LGBTQ, and more. We’ve explained the benefits of joining a fertility support group and how to find one in your area here.

Review Financial Options
Fertility insurance coverage, when applicable, can assist patients with many financial difficulties that can arise during a treatment plan. Connecting with a fertility specialist to review their pricing as well as any discounts or special offers they have slated for 2020 is important. You don’t want to miss out on any opportunities to save money where possible. Many fertility specialists, including Fertility Solutions, offer yearlong discounts for members of the military, for example.

If you have any questions or are ready to schedule your fertility consultation, please contact Fertility Solutions today.
